This is my favorite post yet!! I LOVE CHINESE FOOD!!. In this post, I'm gonna teach you how to make a delicious, mouthwatering and completely yummy PORK AND SHRIMP siomai! this is a food recipe that can be done easily because it's just mix, wrap and heat. before proceeding to your work i suggest to hold on tight because this is recipe that's so easy it can make your scream: "IS THAT REALLY ALL?"
PS: my granny taught me this old recipe secrets.
INGREDIENTS:
700 grams of grinded pork
1/3 cup of carrots
1 kilo of shrimp, (uncooked, best if it's still breathing because it means it's still alive and fresh, kill it by chooping it's head off later)
100 pieces of small wanton or siomai wrapper.
1 orange
1/3 cup o soy sauce
1 egg
1 big onion
1/5 cup of spring onions
*you need a siomai steamer for this, you can't boil these little guys you know :D
option one: stainless steel steamer
option 2: traditional bamboo steamer
PS: my granny taught me this old recipe secrets.
INGREDIENTS:
700 grams of grinded pork
1/3 cup of carrots
1 kilo of shrimp, (uncooked, best if it's still breathing because it means it's still alive and fresh, kill it by chooping it's head off later)
100 pieces of small wanton or siomai wrapper.
1 orange
1/3 cup o soy sauce
1 egg
1 big onion
1/5 cup of spring onions
*you need a siomai steamer for this, you can't boil these little guys you know :D
option one: stainless steel steamer
PROCEDURE/PROCESS
1. chop off all the shrimpsand onions! better be careful not to include your hands, chop them until they look ready to be mixed with the grinded pork.
2. next, mix the pork, shrimp and carrots together, mix well for 5 minutes, be careful not to squish them too much, if they are squished the flavor drops off.
3. Add the egg
4. add the spring onions
5. put the mixings into each siomai wrapper. I STRONGLY suggest for you to use spoons so you can get the exact amount of mixings each time.
6 arrange them in the steamer. I STRONGLY SUGGEST for you to arrange them with spaces, because the wrappers might get sticky and be glued to one another. the space does not need to be too big, just enough so they don't bump each other.
7. leave it steamed for 25 min
8. take out the cooked siomai dimsums and serve them 6 pieces per plate.
9. now cut the oranges and place it as a decoration. (*see the photo i used for this article)
10. add another small container for the soy sauce.
11. ENJOY EATING!!
there!! i have listed all the things you need to do to wow everyone who eats his siomai! a wise man once said; "it's easier to make someone's stomach fall inlove with you, than his/her heart"
LOVE,
PRINCESS <3
I know im not so clear yet on some off you, but if you have some questions about this post or recipe don't be shy to drop me an e-mail, i'd be thrilled to write back :)

Finding a good read.

When it comes to choosing the right books for you to read, you must know what kind of humor do you have, you must not buy a book because you are forced by something or someone, for me, books are supposed to be enjoyed genuinely. I have A LOT of books at home, my room has turned to a library so i don't sleep there anymore, but if you will browse my shelves you will see that I'm a horror fan. i laugh when seeing GORE (*sorry if it makes you think of something that makes you gag.). well then after giving you a brief explanation on my part, let's proceed to finding yours. :)
I'll give you 3 easy steps to find your center ~~:)
STEP ONE: know your own "GENRE"
*first, open your laptop and search a few titles, there are a lot of websites that offers a "SEEK PEEK" to their products. Read those that interests you. If you find something that makes you wanna buy the book because it sparked your interest then that must be your genre!
PS: try this site, they give good previews and spoiler free! : http://nationalbookstore.com/
HERE ARE SOME OF MY SUGGESTED BOOKS FOR EVERY GENRE i have read:
for MYSTERY lovers, try: SAMMY KEYES series.
for ROMANTIC mysteries try my favorite and highly suggested : TWILIGHT SAGA.
ps: if you hate kristen's acting just read the book. it's more better that watching the movie and gagging till the end.
for horror and thrill seekers check these out and blow your mind!
for more suggestions please e-mail me with your genre and I'd be happy to write back with loads of book suggestions! trust me I've been a geek before!
EMAIL: smilingdaytoday@yahoo.com
STEP TWO: read more of your chosen genre.
*well i bet it's a lot easier now because you already know your "powers" (*just kidding). Even after finding yours, there will always be a case where you lose interest. It's not abnormal in anyway it's just you changing (*yes it's a part of puberty, but if you are 20 something and you still feel unsure about yourself.........consult a doctor, you might have some serious problems! .........joke!) well i have experienced that feeling, I'm reading the goosebumps series from R.L. stine then one day i found myself crying while reading the ending of BREAKING DAWN. It just change as you grow up, the secret is to find something you like again.
STEP THREE: Explore your horizons!
*You might really like reading the horror series your aunt gave you, but you are sadly trashing the mystery books your dad suggested. I'ts always nice to read different genres because there might be a chance that you might go LOCO over that new book you are reading. Chances are high. the risk is low, but the reward is greater! so next time you are in a bookstore and you see that one title whispering :" buy me and read me please~~~" don't ignore it, give it a chance! (*in case you are a VOLTURI member then it's okay not to give second chances! ........kidding again). NEW YORK TIMES might be a great help for those who wants to try new ones. here's the link: http://www.nytimes.com/best-sellers-books/overview.html.
here are some random choices for you to read, trust me i have red them cover to cover so i guarantee you that the satisfaction rate is 5 star or more :)
1.) this is my old fave, the "GRIZZLY TALES" they are scary, funny, and have a lot of lessons to be learned. well they can be useful for someone aged 12 below. but if you are searching for a light humorous read, give these series a try :)
left to right: terror time toys, blubbers and sicksters
*
2.) the "FEAR STREET SERIES" = they are not actually popular today because these are old classics, i got them from an old bookstore. they are considered antique but these stories are for teenagers who likes nightmares for breakfast :)
left to right: fear hall: the beginning, the babysitter 4, lights out, party summer, the evil lives.
*
3.) all about vampires. actually they are a mix of all my vampire books. (*the twilight saga not included)
left to right: my sister the vampire 2, vampire state building, how to be a vampire, vampires,
second row: vampire plagues: london, vampire plagues:paris, vampire plagues: mexico, Vamps.
*
4.) Goosebumps series = same as fear street, famous before our generation but because It's freaking famous some are still newly published and available on BIG bookstores.
left to right: escape from carnival of horrors, the barking ghost, night of the living dummy 3, monster blood 1, how i got my shrunken head,
second row: the haunted mask, curse of the mummy, phantom of the auditorium, ghost of camp cold lake, ghost camp, beast from the east.
3rd row: goosebumps monster collection books 1-3
*
5.) SHIVERS series = they are a lot like goosebumps but shivers offers reader a new way to scare the living daylight out of you.
left to right: the curse in the jungle, night of the goat boy, the mystic's spell
*
6.) My favorite mix of epic, mystery and classic tales.
left to right: the sphinx's princess, dark quetzal, memoirs of a geisha (*this is my all time tear-jerker and mind opener), frankenstine.
*
7.) INKHEART trilogy (*sorry someone borrowed my copy of inkdeath. (*the one with greenish cover) )
I guess i have given every easy way possible to you now? ~~~ =)
if you still have some questions about this don't hesitate to e-mail me your questions, I'm always free to answer stuff that my readers ask. :)
don't forget to join this blog of mine :) thanks <3

Starting up a Collection

First of all in starting a collection, you need to think about what kinds of things will you collect. if you want to be unique, try collecting "UNUSUAL" products, and when i say unusual, I'm not telling you to collect aliens and U.F.O.'s or your sister's old tweezers or your father's shaving cream bottles, for me to collect something unusual is to gather things a bit unsuited for you, your age, your gender. well, that's IF you just want to be unique and original.(*see some outrageous collection of the most bizarre people on earth later, keep reading first!) But if you just want to have fun collecting goodies and don't care about what other people will say about them, i strongly suggest to collect the things YOU LOVE, do you like some particular magazines? then, subscribe to that certain title, do you like a particular line of Revlon cosmetics? then get all the color available!. It will be a lot more easier if you love what you are doing and you KNOW that after shelling out your savings, (*and your winter food budget.....just kidding) you will like them, love them and most importantly, CARE for them. Setting up a collection of something is like raising a pet. (*this time I'm not kidding =D )
SECOND, if you are thinking about setting up your own collection, you MUST do it because you LIKE, LOVE, CARE for the things you will collect, not just because....
*you and your ex's girlfriend are having a bet on who has the most coolest collection in town to win the boy back.
*you envy those girls in school who has something to talk about everyday about their collections and stuff.
*you want to IMPRESS someone or somebody you like or just to show off.
*you feel like doing it after your super scary adrenaline rush.
I'm telling you, if you are doing this because of those things I have listed above then STOP!! you must know that setting up a collection is NOT AS EASY as you think. those things you will buy will be your babies for life! (*not literally) you will have to wash them up (*if they are solid figurines or clothes but if they are made of paper, don't let water have contact with them, the results may be FATAL to your books! ) scrub those dirt and polish them everyday or at least twice a month.
Well i think you have a fair share of knowledge now so i think i won't hurt to begin?
1.) have a closer look to your budget, if you want to have a collection of Chanel shoes, then you must have lots and lots and lots of "MOOLAH" (*money). You won't be able to get them by pleading the sales lady right? you will have to give them REAL CASH. so if you want to have a big collection. choose things that are cheap but good in quality and good for your budget.
2.) Think about what you will collect.
3.) Find some local supplier of your chosen collection, if possible, befriend him or her so the price may be reduced!! hehe i tried this once and it's very effective!. If you are not able to find someone then you must rely on the ONLINE SHOPPING, it may sound great because you will just get your laptop and those goodies will be delivered the next week. BUT it's actually not. online shopping is equals to SHIPPING FEES! you think you saved money by not commuting to the mall where you can get them? well think again. shipping fees include payments to these people:
*the person who owns the website or company where you get your orders.
*the person who will process your request
*the person who will wrap your package.
*the person who will deliver your package.
so it will TAKE A LOT.
3.) after choosing the right things, ordering them through the internet or getting them by yourself, next thing is STORAGE OR DISPLAY. You will have to have some place to store them well, this is not that tricky because you just have to find a place where dust is not a problem and space is well managed. for that i recommend these glass cabinets:
4.) PROTECTION, having a collection means having something to clean once in a while, you would not want to have a DIRTY collection right? so it's time to be responsible for your own things, your mom and maid has enough problems and things to focus, don't expect them to clean your things.
I guess i have given you the basics now? ~finally~ :)
REMEMBER: starting up a collection is never an easy job, you have to care for those things you love and collect because they are valuable to you. Now after getting all those in your head i suppose i can give you some ideas of things you might want to collect?
For the girly girls i suggest these:
FOR the fearless boys well check these out (*sorry if these don't really interest you cuz' Im a girl looking to a boy's perspective so please don't laugh?)
If i haven't cleared up everything yet, don't be shy to e-mail me your questions! i'd be thrilled to write back, i know i do have some things that are not-so-clear here in my FIRST blog entry so I'm expecting a few questions. Also, I'm always open for suggestions just email me and i'll see if i can do something about your chosen topic!
