PS: my granny taught me this old recipe secrets.
INGREDIENTS:
700 grams of grinded pork
1/3 cup of carrots
1 kilo of shrimp, (uncooked, best if it's still breathing because it means it's still alive and fresh, kill it by chooping it's head off later)
100 pieces of small wanton or siomai wrapper.
1 orange
1/3 cup o soy sauce
1 egg
1 big onion
1/5 cup of spring onions
*you need a siomai steamer for this, you can't boil these little guys you know :D
option one: stainless steel steamer
PROCEDURE/PROCESS
1. chop off all the shrimpsand onions! better be careful not to include your hands, chop them until they look ready to be mixed with the grinded pork.
2. next, mix the pork, shrimp and carrots together, mix well for 5 minutes, be careful not to squish them too much, if they are squished the flavor drops off.
3. Add the egg
4. add the spring onions
5. put the mixings into each siomai wrapper. I STRONGLY suggest for you to use spoons so you can get the exact amount of mixings each time.
6 arrange them in the steamer. I STRONGLY SUGGEST for you to arrange them with spaces, because the wrappers might get sticky and be glued to one another. the space does not need to be too big, just enough so they don't bump each other.
7. leave it steamed for 25 min
8. take out the cooked siomai dimsums and serve them 6 pieces per plate.
9. now cut the oranges and place it as a decoration. (*see the photo i used for this article)
10. add another small container for the soy sauce.
11. ENJOY EATING!!
there!! i have listed all the things you need to do to wow everyone who eats his siomai! a wise man once said; "it's easier to make someone's stomach fall inlove with you, than his/her heart"
